People facing mental & emotional challenges
I work one-to-one with adults experiencing stress, anxiety, overthinking, emotional overwhelm, low confidence, limiting beliefs and personal pressures that are affecting how they feel and function.
I’m Steven Rooney, founder of The Mind Coaching Academy. I work directly with people to help them change the thought patterns, emotional responses, beliefs and behaviours that can affect confidence, wellbeing, relationships and performance.

People do not usually arrive with one neat problem. Stress can affect confidence. Overthinking can affect decisions. A limiting belief can affect communication. A difficult experience can change how somebody responds under pressure.
My work is about understanding what is actually happening for that person, identifying the pattern that is keeping the difficulty in place and helping them create a more useful response they can use outside the session.
That same principle sits behind the workplace service: support the individual in a practical, confidential way while giving the employer a clear and accountable provision.
I am the person employers speak to, the practitioner delivering the work and the person responsible for maintaining the agreed professional boundaries around confidentiality, safeguarding, scope and service delivery.
Working across different settings has strengthened my understanding of how confidence, beliefs, emotional responses and mental performance can influence what somebody is able to do when it matters.
I work one-to-one with adults experiencing stress, anxiety, overthinking, emotional overwhelm, low confidence, limiting beliefs and personal pressures that are affecting how they feel and function.
I support people where personal or workplace pressures are affecting focus, confidence, communication, relationships, decision-making or their ability to perform effectively at work.
I also work one-to-one with sportspeople to strengthen mental performance, confidence, self-belief, focus and their ability to perform under pressure. The aim is to reduce the mental barriers that can interfere with executing what they are physically capable of doing.

What is happening, how it is affecting the employee and what they want to change.
Situations, thoughts, emotional responses and behaviours that may be maintaining the difficulty.
Use appropriate coaching and change-work techniques to create more useful ways of responding.
Translate the work into everyday situations, decisions and behaviour outside the session.
My workplace wellbeing work developed from seeing how mental and emotional pressures affect people before those difficulties necessarily become a formal absence or clinical issue. Conversations with people working in demanding environments, including NHS staff, reinforced the potential value of an independent route sitting outside management and HR.

Tell me what you are seeing in your workforce and what you want to improve. I can explain where I may be able to help and where another route would be more appropriate.
